
Overview
JustinTime Internal Medicine is a software program
aimed at increasing the portability and expansion of the content of the Clerkship Directors of Internal Medicine (CDIM) Core Medicine Clerkship Curricular Guide. JustinTime Internal Medicine’s (JIT) primary purpose is to help students understand the specific competencies that they should attain when interacting with patients and to learn efficiently in the context of taking care of patients.
Modeled after the CDIM guide, JIT is divided into 19 training problems (eg Abdominal pain, Diabetes, Substance abuse, etc). Each training problem is subdivided into 9 specific clinical tasks, indicating what a student should accomplish when interacting with a patient presenting with one of the core problems with respect to:
- Attitude/professional behaviors
- Communication skills
- Differential diagnosis
- History-taking
- Knowledge
- Laboratory interpretation
- Management
- Physical examination
- Procedural skills
